There are two basic options when considering a home care situation for your senior loved one: A full-time caregiver or a part-time caregiver. There are some senior citizens who do not require all four hour days of care, but who require at the very least two to three hours every day of personal care. When you can devote at least 2-3 hours per day, you might have time to look after your beloved around the clock.

Of course, your allowance will affect the type of home care you can afford. Full-time home care is expensive. It could be possible that you and your loved one can qualify for a Medicaid program or subsidized care through a senior center, nursing home, or other agency.
